Hindu mythology creatures are one of the most questionable evolving creatures, who are attached with mysterious and unbelievable appearances. It is always been hard to understand the stories of their origin and aesthetic or sometime weird appearances. Hindu Mythology have thousands of stories, every story has its own moral and contain a different creature which is not only weird but also has unique appearance. Naga

Naga’s were kind of creature that have existence both in Hindu and Buddhist mythology. Basically, Naga’s had creatures having upper body of human and lower body of snake. They had powers of converting themselves completely into human or snake. According to Hindu mythology, Naga’s were symbol of fertility and change, on the other hand, in Buddhist Mythology they were symbols of enlightenment and protection. In mythology they can be both and bad in nature.

Makara

Makara was a mythical and ancient sea creature which completely a mystery and exist only in mythological stories. According to the tales Makara was defined as the mixture of mammal, marine and other wild animal. Stories characterize Makara as sea monster who have body of crocodile, elephant trunk, lion like legs and peacock’s tail. Also, some stories of Hindu mythology convey makara as Vehicle of goddess ganga or sea gods. Even, somewhere makara also considered as creature created by of ancient story teller to add entertainment or adventure in their stories.

Kinnara

Kinnara

According to Hindu mythology, Kinnara is defined as the creature with half body of man and half body of horse, on the other hand, In Buddhist Mythology Kinnara is defined as creature of half male and other half of bird. they are generally called Gandharawa and also relate them with music and dance. Kinnara also considered as the symbol of divine connection of human and nature.

Varaha

Vraha avtar

Varaha actually third incarnation of Lord Vishnu, creature with the appearance of Boar headed man and considered as one of main god. According to tales of Hindu Mythology, when demon named Hiranyaksha took earth in depth of cosmic ocean at that time lord Vishnu took the avatar of Varah and dived into cosmic ocean to defeat demon and lifted earth out of ocean on his tusk.

Kaliya

According to Hindu Mythology, Kaliya was snake with multiple heads. Kaliya uses to live in Yamuna River, due to his venom regional people were unable to use the rivers water and also affected aquatic animals. Lord Krishna subdued the Kaliya and helped regional peoples.

Vanara

Vanara has very deep connection in Hindu mythology, as there is important role of Vanara in Hindu Holy Book Ramayana. Mythology characterized Vanara’s as monkey like humanoids, who were devoted to Lord Rama. Even in the Battle between Lord Rama and Ravana, Rama’s army was full of Vanara’s, who fought the battle against Ravan with full determination and devotion.

Narsimha

Narsimha

Narsimha is also another 4th incarnation of Lord Vishnu. In this Avtar, Lord Vishnu appeared as Lion headed man to demolish and kill the devil, King Hiranyaksha. According To mythology this Incarnation of Lord Vishnu as symbol of Divine fury against evil forces.

Mahishasura

Mahishasura is basically a demon in Hindu mythology, who had powers to transform himself from human to buffalo, due to this power deities were unable to defeat his. But his regime of terror ended by Goddess Durga. The victory of Goddess Durga over Mahishasura, till now considered as the symbol of leadership of goodness over evil, regardless of gender.

Sharabha

Sharabha is said to be an incarnation of lord Shiva which appeared with body of lion and bird, and Carrying wings also. Different book specifies Sharabha appearance differently. When Narsimha avtar of Lord Vishnu was unable to control his anger after killing Hiranyakashyapa and ultimately became destroyer. So, Lord Shiva appeared as Sharabha Avatar to defeat Narsimha. Sharabha avtar of Shiva is considered as most powerful and with a complete mixture of various animals’ abilities.

Garuda

Garuda is vehicle of lord Vishnu according to Hindu Mythology. Tale of Hindu Mythology defines Garuda as golden eagle or Kite like Creature and also some of stories also describes Garuda as half eagle and half man. Garuda was step brother of Devas, Daityas, Yaksha, Demons and son of Rishi Kashyapa (father) or Vinata (Mother). Hindu Mythology stories is used to symbolize immense fearlessness, speed, corporation, freedom, strength and power.
